What are the philosophical views of contemporary professional philosophers? Are more philosophers theists or atheists? Physicalists or non-physicalists? Deontologists, consequentialists, or virtue ethicists? A survey was done by David Bourget and David Chalmers back in 2009 and published in 2013. This video includes the main results. They are not only of sociological and historical interest, but also have a significance for philosophical practice itself.
I might make a second video in which I analyze the results and go into more detail, including the metasurvey results and some interesting correlations between various different views, as well as other factors, like area of specialization, age, gender, and geographical location.
