On the second day of Julian Assange’s extradition hearing, the second defense witness testified about the importance of WikiLeaks publications. Stafford Smith, a British attorney and human rights specialist, testified that he has used WikiLeaks publications to aid in his work as an attorney. The Prosecution went on to insist that Assange is not being charged for publishing classified material but for publishing informants’ identities. The defense countered this argument by referencing the indictment which charges Assange with obtaining classified material.
